Rearcross 'A' 4 - Cappamore 1

Rearcross 'A' came out on the right end of this meeting with Cappamore on
a four goals to one scoreline. Davy O'Toole nearly edged Rearcross ahead in
the 2nd minute, however Sean Sheehy smothered the ball. Joey Nolan's effort
in the 5th minute curled to the right of the upright. Cappmore's David Ryan
hit a free kick in the 7th minute with Oliver Kennedy advacing to parry ball
away from danger area. Rearcross took the lead in 14th minute when John Ryan
Luke slammed to the back of the net from the penalty spot after Joey Nolan was
taken from behind. Cappore fell two in arrears in the 20th minute when a speculative
shot from Joey Nolan deceived Cappamore's Sean Sheehy. David Kennedy's headed
effort was on target in the 25th minute, however Oliver Kenndey was well positioned
to diminish the threat. Cappamore set themselves up nicely for the second half
when David Kennedy sent a bullett to the back of the net a minute before the
halftime whistle. The expected recovery from Cappamore in the second half didn't
materialise and it was Rearcross who dominated. PJ McLoughlin's left legged
six minutes in to the half was well struck, however the ball pulled to the left
of the target. Rearcross made it 3-1 with 12 minutes remaining when Liam Nolan's
strike rebounded to Joey Nolan who tapped in from close range. Joey Nolan completed
his hat trick with six minutes to go with a delightful finish from outside the
box to set Rearcross 'A' up for a Quarter Final place against Doon.
