Silvermines 2 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' were defeated 2-1 by Silvermines last Sunday in the First Division league, Rearcross started brightly with Emmet Steed forcing a good save from the Silvermines keeper with a headed effort from a Thomas Kennedy cross in the 10th minute. Rearcross faded out of the game as the half progressed and went one nil behind in the 35th minute with a well struck shot from close range. Thomas Kennedy equalised for Rearcross in the 37th minute from the penalty spot. Rearcross never played to their potential in the second half and were duly punished by a much more determined Silvermines side in the 50th minute when Joe Ryan put the homeside 2-1 ahead with a well taken penalty.
