Ballymackey 2 - Rearcross 'A' 3

Rearcross 'A' got their league campaign off to a winning start last Sunday with a well earned 3-2 away victory against Ballymackey. Brendan Deegan put Rearcross ahead in the 25th minute with an excellent left-footed strike from outside the box that left the Ballymackey keeper with no chance. The home side were back on level terms in the 50th minute when Mike Haverty headed home from close range. Rearcross reacted immediately and were back in front two minutes later when Diarmuid Sheehy linked up with Sean Sheehy who put the ball in the Ballymackey net with a well struck shot from the right flank. Jimmy Kenneally levelled the scoreline in the 72nd minute with a tap in from close range. Rearcross battled hard and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Emmet Steed fired home the winner with a superb strike from the right wing.
