Birdhill 'A' 1 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' had to battle all the way to earn a share of the spoils on a 1-1 scoreline against Birdhill 'A' last Sunday in a premier division league game played at the Birdhill venue. Rearcross playing against a strong wind in the first half got off to an ideal start when Darren Malone scored a well taken goal from an acute angle in the 9th minute. Birdhill were back on level terms in the 25th minute when Martin Hough sent a powerful header to the roof of the net from a corner kick. The heavy underfoot conditions somewhat detracted from the game throughout, however Rearcross had scoring chances late in the game with Sean Kennedy and Emmet Steed coming close to the target.
