Moneygall 'A' 4 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' made the trip to Barna on St Patrick's morning for a league fixture against Moneygall 'A' and came away with a comprehensive 4-1 victory. Rearcross put in a great first half display that yielded a hat-trick of goals with the first coming in the 14th minute when Derek O'Toole finished to the net after his initial effort rebounded of the upright. Thomas Kennedy made it two nil on 25 minutes when he rifled a free kick from the edge of the box to the roof of the net. Emmet Steed added a third with two minutes remaining in the half when he sent a rasping shot past the Moneygall keeper. The home side as expected made a strong start to the second half, and were duly rewarded three minutes into the half when a corner kick was powerfully headed to the net by Moneygall's Sean Kennedy. Moneygall rallied after this goal and enjoyed their fair share of possession with Paddy Fanning somewhat unlucky not to reduce the deficit midway through the half, when his effort rebounded of the upright. Rearcross finished stronger and tacked on an insurance goal in the 85th minute when a good move involving Darren Malone and Emmet Steed found Davy Ryan(L) in possession in front of goal who in turn blasted to the net from close range.
