Nenagh 'A' 3 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' were beaten 3-1 by Nenagh 'A' last Sunday in Islandbawn in the Premier Division League. Rearcross playing with wind advantage got off to the worst possible start when Nenagh opening their account in the 4th minute with Darren O'Gorman scoring from close range after a lapse of concentration by the visitors. Rearcross enjoyed their fair share of possession after this early setback but never really threatened the Nenagh goal. Noel Hogan gave Nenagh a two goal advantage in the 41st minute when he headed home from inside the eighteen yard box against the run of play. Nenagh shot in to a three nil lead in the 53rd minute when Trevor Morrissey headed home after getting on the end of a cross from the left flank. Rearcross pulled a goal back in the 69thth minute when Thomas Kennedy headed to the net from close range. Rearcross enjoyed their best period the game for the remaining twenty minutes and were unlucky not to add to the score line with Val Kennedy and Thomas Rainsford coming close to the target.
