Rearcross 'A' 2 - Waterford Bohemians 3 (AET)

Rearcross 'A' produced a fine performance last Sunday in the second round of the FAI Junior Cup against 1995 FAI Cup winners Waterford Bohemians and were somewhat unlucky not to advance to the next round of the competition on a 3-2 scoreline after extra time. Bohemians went ahead in the 21st minute with a clinical finish from Alan Quinlan, Rearcross levelled in the 44th minute when Val Kennedy finished to the back of the net from inside the eighteen yard box. Bohemians went ahead for the second time in the 53rd minute when Alan Quinlan scored his second from the penalty spot. Rearcross were back in the game in the when Sean Kennedy rifled to the net on 74 minutes after a well directed cross from Derek O'Toole. Bohemians grabbed the winner in the 107th minute when James Ellickson hit the target from close range to give the Waterford side a place in the next round.
