Rearcross 'A' 5 - Shinrone 'A' 6

Rearcross 'A' were on the wrong end of a 6-5 scoreline against Shinrone in a Premier Division league game played in Rearcross last Sunday, Val Kennedy opened the scoring in the 9th minute when he headed home from the edge of the six yard box, Shinrone equalised in the 11th minute when Michael Cordial broke through the centre and finished to the net. Shinrone went 2-1 ahead a minute later when a Michael Cordial effort was deflected to the net. Emmet Steed levelled for Rearcross in the 16th minute with a well finished goal. Derek O'Toole put the home side 3-2 ahead in the 31st minute when he finished an Emmet Steed effort to the back of the net. Emmet Steed shot Rearcross in to a 4-2 lead in the 31st minute with he blasted to the back of the net after a good move on the left flank. Shinrone pulled a goal back in the 81st minute when Pat Moloney scored from a corner kick. Thomas Rainsford appeared to have sealed the victory in the 85th minute when he rounded the keeper and slotted home from an acute angle to give Rearcross a 5-3 advantage. A battling Shinrone were back in the game in the 87th minute when Pat Moloney headed to the net from a free kick. Philip Murphy levelled the affair in the 89th minute when he knocked the ball to the net from a corner kick. Shinrone grabbed the winner in the 91st minute when Darren Foley hit the target from inside the eighteen yard box.
