Rearcross 'A' suffered their first league defeat of the season last Sunday with a disappointing display against Blackcastle 'A' in Templemore on a 4-1 scoreline, Blackcastle went ahead in the 24th minute when Domo Byrne was well positioned to knock the ball to the net from close range, Rearcross got back on level terms in the 32nd minute when Ger Kennedy harried the Blackcastle keeper and finished to the net. Rearcross were somewhat unlucky not to take the lead in the 37th minute when Shane Reynold's headed effort rebounded of the upright. The home side went ahead for the second time on 40 minutes when Ricky O'Brien headed home from the edge of the six yard box. Blackcastle dominated the proceedings in the second half and were 3-1 ahead in the 63rd minute when Evan Byrne got on the scoresheet with a well taken goal. Ricky O'Brien grabbed his second goal in the 70th minute with a well struck shot to clinch the victory for Blackcastle.
