Rearcross 'A' entertained Bilboa last Sunday in the FAI Junior Cup and were fortunate to advance to the next round on a 2-1 scoreline after extra time. Rearcross went ahead in the 16th minute when Emmet Steed released Derek O'Toole on the left wing who finished to the back of the net from inside the eighteen yard box. Bilboa stuck to their task well and pulled a goal back in the 58th minute when Mike Ryan broke on the ring wing and rifled home from an acute angle, Bilboa finished the stronger team and were somewhat unlucky not to snatch a winner before the 90th minute whistle. The game was taken to extra time with Rearcross grabbing the winner in the 104th minute when Derek O'Toole crossed from the left to Emmet Steed who crashed the ball to the net to give Rearcross a place in the third round draw.
