Birdhill 0 - Rearcross 'A' 3
Rearcross 'A' recorded a vital league win last Sunday against rivals Birdhill at the Birdhill venue, Birdhill enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the opening 15th minutes but failed to register a score, Rearcross upped the tempo as the half progressed and took the lead in the 30th minute when Paul Murphy picked out Sean Kennedy from a throw ball who in turn broke on the right and deceived the Birdhill keeper with a well struck shot from thirty yards. Rearcross increased their advantage on 37 minutes when a Thomas Rainsford cross from the end line was finisned to the net at the back post by a well positioned Paul Murphy. Sean Kennedy grabbed his second in the 65th minute when he covered ground to get on the end of a cross from to knock the ball to the net from close range. Derek O'Toole beat the offside trap in the 77th minute and scored from the edge of the eighteen year box to seal the victory for Rearcross.
