Rearcross 'A' advanced to the area final of the Munster Junior Cup in Rearcross last Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Thurles Town 'B' after extra time, Rearcross got off to the worst possible start when Thurles scored in the 5th minute when John O'Connell was on target, Rearcross went two nil behind three minutes later when Danny Hickey found space on the left to score a well taken goal. Rearcross stuck to their task well and pulled a goal back when Thomas Kennedy scored from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half, Rearcross were fortunate to equalise in the 83rd minute when a Thurles defender headed past his own keeper. Rearcross were dominant in extra time and scored what proved to be the winner in the 94th minute when Val Kennedy finished the ball to the net after a goalmouth scramble. Thurles were unlucky not to take the game to penalties with five minutes left on the stopwatch when John O'Connell's well struck free kick from outside the eighteen yard box rebounded off the crossbar.
