Rearcross 'A' recorded their second league victory last Sunday morning in Rearcross with a hard earned 3-2 victory over Thurles Town 'A', two first half strikes from Derek O'Toole laid the foundation for this victory, the first coming on 19 minutes with he broke on the left wing and finished from the tightest of angles, a well placed pass from Val Kennedy in the 30th minute released Derek O'Toole who again sprinted through on the left flank and drove the ball past a stranded Thurles keeper. Thurles did all the early running in the second half and pulled a goal back in the 50th minute when Liam Mackey scooped the ball to the net after a goalmouth scramble. The home side had to dig deep at this stage and were rewarded midway through the half when a PJ McLoughlin pass was finished to the net by Ger Kennedy from in front of goal. Rearcross started to tire towards the end of the game against a lively Thurles combination and were punished in the 78th minute when John O'Connell scored with a well struck shot from the edge of the box. Rearcross pulled out all the stops in the remaining minutes to hold on for victory.
