Clodiagh Rangers 'A' 3 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' travelled to Drombane with an under strength side last Sunday and were duly defeated 3-1 by a strong Clodiagh Rangers outfit in the Premier Division league, Rearcross playing against the wind in the first half got off to the worst possible start when James Ryan finished from close range in the 3rd minute to give the home side a one nil advantage. Clodiagh Rangers should have taken a two nil lead in the 23rd minute, however an advancing Oliver Kennedy narrowed the angle and saved well to keep the scoreline intact. Rearcross enjoyed the better of the early exchanges in the second half and equalised in the 50th minute when great work by Derek O'Toole saw his left footed effort hit the inside of the upright, the ball was subsequently scrambled to the net by Ger Kennedy. Rearcross failed to build on their equaliser and fizzled out of the game as the half progressed, James Ryan put Clodiagh ahead for the second time on 65 minutes with a well taken goal, Clodiagh Rangers went 3-1 in front in the 80th minute when Eoin Shortt broke through the centre to score a fine individual goal, Derek O'Toole was unlucky not to pull a goal back for Rearcross in the 84th minute when his shot clipped the woodwork.
