Rearcross 'B' 1 - Thurles Town 'B' 3

Rearcross 'B' came out on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline against Thurles Town 'B' in a league fixture playing in Rearcross last Sunday morning. Rearcross made the better start to this game and were denied the lead in the 7th minute when Liam Ryan's effort rebounded off the crossbar. Thurles scored the opener on twenty minutes when Danny Hickey knocked the ball home at the near post. Rearcross were deprived of an equaliser midway through the half when a double save by Thurles keeper denied Matthew Ryan Luke and then Trevor Delahunty. The visitors grabbed a second in the 35th minute when John O'Connell drove the ball home through a crowded goalmouth. Rearcross went further behind three minutes before half time when Danny Hickey scored his second from a corner kick. Rearcross held their own in the second half and might have taken something from this game with a bit more luck in front of goal. Trevor Delahunty got in a shot in the 65th minute that was held by the Thurles keeper. John Berkery pulled a goal back for Rearcross in the 71st minute when he converted from the penalty spot. Liam Ryan hit a good effort in the 75th minute that was well saved by a Thurles netminder that tormented Rearcross on the day. Rearcross had good performances from John Berkery, Matthew Ryan Luke and Tommy Ryan Luke.
