Thurles Town 'A' 0 - Rearcross 'A' 2

Rearcross 'A' secured a valuable two nil victory over Thurles Town 'A' in a league game played at the Greyhound Stadium last Sunday, Rearcross did all the early attacking with Derek O'Toole driving a well struck shot from eighteen yards in the 5th minute which was safely held by the Thurles keeper, Rearcross threatened again in the 11th minute when a great move involving Brendan Deegan, Martin McLoughlin and Emmet Steed saw PJ McLoughlin released on the right flank, however the resulting strike was just wide of the target. Thurles came in to the game as the half progressed and the signs were ominous for Rearcross in the 35th minute when the referee pointed to the spot, luckily for Rearcross the penalty effort was over the top. Rearcross got the badly needed breakthrough in the 65th minute when a long delivery from Martin McLoughin broke to Thomas Kennedy who held his footing well and scrambled the ball to the back of the net from close range. Oliver Kennedy denied Thurles Town an equaliser in the 76th minute when he advanced and saved well when a goal looked certain. Emmet Steed sealed the points in the 89th minute when he broke on the left and created space to shoot home from inside the eighteen yard box.
