Rearcross 'B' 1 - Ardcroney 'B' 0

Rearcross B recorded a one nil victory over Ardcroney 'B' in Rearcross last Sunday. This was an evenly fought game with both teams enjoying an equal amount of possession in the first half. Rearcross had the better chances of the half with Paul Murphy hitting the crossbar with a free kick from the edge of the box midway through the half, while minutes later Joey Nolan forced the Ardcroney keeper to parry a well hit shot from the edge of the box on to the cross bar and out for a corner. Rearcross were the more dominant side at the start of the second half and were rewarded when Joey Nolan crossed for Paul Murphy to finish from close range in the 65th minute. Ardcroney fought back and asserted a lot of pressure on Rearcross in the last twenty minutes and were rewarded with a penalty in the 87th minute, which was well saved by Anthony Ryan, the rebounded effort struck the upright with Joey Ryan averting the danger for Rearcross when he cleared the ball out for a corner. The home side weathered the storm and held on for victory. A good team performance from Rearcross with Joey Ryan, Myles Devitt, Paul Murphy and Joey Nolan all performing well.
