Cloughjordan 'B' 2 - Rearcross 'B' 2

Rearcross 'B' were away to Cloughjordan 'B' last Sunday morning in a league game and played out a two all draw to record their sixth league draw of the current campaign. Anthony Ryan had to be alert to deny the home side with successive saves in the 8th minute, however Cloughjordan opened their account two minutes later when the ball was knocked over the goal line after a corner kick deceived the Rearcross defence. Denis Kennedy nearly pulled a goal back for Rearcross in the 15th minute when his well struck shot from a tight angle looked to be goal bound only for the cross bar to deny the effort. Trevor Delahunty levelled for Rearcross in the 20th minute when he shot past the Cloughjordan keeper on the second attempt after a fine move involving Liam Ryan, Matthew Ryan Luke and Michael Carey, Rearcross were dictating the pace at this stage and had chances to take the lead. A lapse of concentration in the 30th minute almost cost the visitors, however Tommy Ryan Luke reacted well to clear off the line. Rearcross counter attacked and went in front in the 32nd minute when a well struck shot from Liam Ryan finished in the net. Rearcross owned the ball for the remainder of the half but failed to add to their slender lead. Rearcross never got to grips with the game in the second half with Anthony Ryan saving well in the 57th minute to keep the score line intact. Rearcross were punished in the 61st minute when Cloughjordan equalised from the penalty spot, Rearcross had to battle for the remainder of the game to earn themselves the draw with the defensive unit performing admirably.
