Rearcross 'A' recorded a six nil victory over Ballymackey in a league game
played in Rearcross last Sunday afternoon, Ballymackey threatened early
on but failed to score, Paul Murphy scored the opener in the 14th minute
when he tapped home after Derek O'Toole had delivered the cross from the
right, Derek O'Toole made it two nil with an opportunist goal in the 33rd
minute when he finished from the edge of the six yard box. The visitors
applied the pressure at the start of the second half and Rearcross were
fortunate not to concede a goal early in the half after a goalmouth skirmish.
Paul Murphy increased the lead in the 59th minute when his effort from the
left finished in the net. Declan O'Toole put Rearcross four in front on
70 minutes when he got on the end of a Paul Murphy cross and headed home
from close range. Dermot Hogan came close for Ballymackey five minutes later
when his shot from the edge of the area was inches wide. Rearcross were
five nil ahead in the 82nd minute after John Ryan Luke's through ball was
knocked to the net by Declan O'Toole who went on to complete his hat trick
with three minutes remaining when he side footed the ball to the net from
in front of goals.
