Rearcross 'B' 1 - Toomevara 'B' 0
Rearcross 'B' made it through to the semi-final of the Reserve Division
Shield last Sunday morning in Rearcross with a well earned one nil victory
over Toomevara 'B'. The home side were the more threatening in the first
half with the Toomevara keeper denying Davy Ryan Luke midway through the
half with a save from close range, while Shane Reynold's headed effort from
a corner kick wasn't far over the crossbar five minutes later. Rearcross
grew in stature as the game progressed and were rewarded in the 68th minute
when Nigel Ryan broke on the right and blasted to the roof of the net from
the edge of the eighteen yard box, Rearcross were on top for the remainder
of the game and were unlucky not to go further ahead with Adrian Ryan and
Nigel Ryan coming close to the target, nonetheless Rearcross were more than
happy with their one nil victory at the end of ninety minutes.
