Rearcross 'B' 1 - Nenagh Town 'B' 1
Rearcross 'B' entertained Nenagh Town reserves in a league meeting
at Rearcross F.C. Grounds last Sunday afternoon and emerged with a share of
the spoils from the encounter on a one all scoreline. Rearcross made a bright
start and took the lead in the 8th minute when Liam Ryan ran to the end line
and pulled the ball back to Trevor Delahunty who blasted to the net from inside
the eighteen yard box. Nenagh were denied minutes later when the ball struck
the crossbar. Rearcross were on top for the remainder of the half with Matthew
Ryan Luke coming close in the 35th minute when his well struck shot was just
over the top, while Liam Ryan forced a fine save out of the Nenagh keeper
just before half time. Rearcross playing against a strong wind in the second
half found the going tough as Nenagh started to dominate the proceedings,
the equalising goal came midway through the half when Rory Walsh finished
from the edge of the six yard box, Rearcross upped the tempo towards the end
of the game with efforts from Davy Ryan Luke and Trevor Delahunty not far
off target, all in all a draw was deemed a fair result on the day.
