Nenagh Town 'A' 3 - Rearcross 'A' 0
Rearcross 'A' played a league fixture against Nenagh Town 'A'
last Sunday in Islandbawn and finished second best on a three nil score line.
Rearcross playing with wind advantage in the opening half went a goal behind
early on when Nenagh's Shane O'Gorman took advantage and scored with a headed
effort from in front of goal. Rearcross fought bravely to get back in the
game and came close when Derek O'Toole broke on the right midway through the
half however the ball didn't fall too kindly and the chance was gone. Rearcross
were again denied in the 38th minute when Derek O'Toole headed through and
drilled a left legged effort that wasn't far away. Rearcross upped the tempo
in the second half and matched Nenagh for long spells, however the equaliser
didn't come and it was Nenagh who grabbed a second in the 73rd minute when
Mikey Hogan was given to much space and rifled to the net from inside the
edge of the eighteen yard box. The home side put the issue beyond doubt minutes
later when Robbie Ryan advanced through the centre and fired to the back of
the net.
