Rearcross 'A' 7 - Shinrone 1

Rearcross 'A' finished their league campaign on a winning note with victory over a depleted Shinrone side last Sunday, the crossbar denied Joey Nolan in the 9th minute when his volley came back in to play, the upright then thwarted Liam Nolan(B) in the 14th minute after his powerfully struck shot rebounded to the left. The O'Toole contingent was having no such luck at this stage and Derek O'Toole opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal from the left. Davy O'Toole made it two nil five minutes later when he had the ball in the net from the edge of the six yard box. Davy O'Toole grabbed his second in the 27th minute after breaking through the centre and finished the ball to the net with a chipped effort that left the keeper stranded. Rearcross were four nil ahead in the 40th minute when Davy O'Toole completed his hat trick with a goal from out on the left. Paul Murphy got on the scoresheet with three minutes remaining in the half when he side footed to the net from the edge of the six yard box. Rearcross went further ahead three minutes into the second half after Declan O'Toole advanced and drove the ball home, Shinrone pulled a goal back midway through the half when Kenneth McLoughlin converted from the penalty spot. Declan O'Toole completed the scoring in the 75th minute with a nicely struck shot from the edge of the eighteen yard box. Eamon O'Toole was hard done by when his attempt on goal hit the crossbar in the 82nd minute, while the woodwork was to deny Derek O'Toole in the 87th minute when his blast from 25 yards came off the cross bar.
