Rearcross 'B' 2 - Nenagh Town 'B' 3

Rearcross 'B' were somewhat unlucky not to progress in the Kennedy Cup when Nenagh Town reserves scored a dramatic winner in extra time, Rearcross made a good start and were creating all sorts of problems for the visiting defence, Nigel Ryan edged Rearcross ahead midway through the half with a clinical finish from in front of goal. Nenagh came in to the game towards the end of the half and came close with Robbie Lawlor and Willie Quinlisk. John Hynes levelled for Rearcross minutes into the second half after poor defensive play from Rearcross. Nenagh were now in top gear and went ahead midway through the half with a fine strike from Robbie Lawlor. Rearcross were back in the game in the 85th minute when Nigel Ryan nipped in behind the Nenagh defence and knocked the ball past Nenagh's John Norton. Exchanges were equally shared in extra time with Thomas Kennedy terribly unlucky not to give Rearcross the lead in the 96th minute when his thirty five yard left legged drive thumped off the crossbar, Nenagh grabbed the all important goal with four minutes remaining when Rory Walsh finished to the net after a goalmouth melee much to the disappointment of a Rearcross squad that had given their all on the day.
