A titantic encounter saw Rearcross win the Tournament title after a high tension sudden death penalty shootout that saw a total of 26 spot kicks taken, Rearcross made the better start and took the lead early on when Derek O'Toole nipped in and headed a Joey Nolan delivery to the net, Kilcommon's biggest threat during the opening half was coming from Damien Mullins whose aerial domance was a constant threat to Rearcross, however the storm was weathered and Rearcross held the one nil lead at half time. The pace of the game was upped in the second half and the equaliser came midway through the half when Damien Mullins met a corner kick on the edge of the six yard box and headed to the back of net, the remainder of the game was played at a lively pace with both sets of defences on top, Paul Quigley made two smashing saves for Kilcommon late in the game to take the affair to a penalty shoot out where Rearcross emerged victorious on an 11-10 scoreline.
