Boher 2 - Rearcross 'B' 1
Rearcross 'B' travelled to Boher for this league fixture last
Sunday and met stubborn opposition as the home side shaded the issue on a
2-1 score line, Boher were on top for the first twenty five minutes and used
this dominance to their advantage with two well taken goals, Rearcross reorganised
and came close with efforts from Eamon Devitt, Thomas Kennedy and a spectacular
attempt from Anthony Ryan. The home side threatened again just before half
time, with Simon Kennedy coming to the rescue with a fine body save. Rearcross
piled on the pressure in the second half and got the breakthrough in the 70th
minute when Paul Murphy got on the end of Anthony Ryan's free kick and headed
to the net from the edge of the six yard box. Rearcross tried in vain to build
on this score and were dominant to the end but couldn't breakdown a strong
Boher outfit. Rearcross were well served on the day by Val Kennedy, Paudie
Devitt, Denis Kennedy & Liam Nolan.
