Blackcastle 'A' 2 - Rearcross 'A' 1
Rearcross 'A' were the visitors to Templemore last Sunday morning for this second round Munster Junior Cup game and had to settle for second best to a lively Blackcastle 'A' on a 2-1 score line. Rearcross opted to played against the wind in the first half as the home side that did the early attacking with the Rearcross defence coping well to keep the score line intact. Joey Nolan then came close for Rearcross midway through the half following a good move started in the middle of the pitch. Blackcastle went ahead midway through the half when a move on the left saw Killian O'Neill turn his marker on the edge of the box before letting fly with a pile driver that went in off the underside of the cross bar. Rearcross went two behind five minutes later when the ball broke to Mel McBride on the right who pulled the ball back and knocked to the net from close range. Rearcross rallied after this and were back in the game in the 37th minute when Davy O'Toole scored his fifth of the season with a drive to net from the corner of the eighteen yard box . Rearcross had more than their fair share of goal scoring opportunities in the second half however failed to capitalise on chances created as the home side held on to progress to the next round.
