Rearcross 'B' finished their interest in the Divisional Cup
with a disappointing 2-1 defeat by Cloughjordan 'B' in Rearcross last Sunday,
Rearcross were well up for this game but lack of penetration in front of goal
was to prove costly, the visitors were first to strike and did so in the first
minute with a well worked goal, the situation worsened for Rearcross in hte
fifteenth minute when the Cloughjordan attack opened the Rearcross defence
with consummate ease and tacked on their second of the day. Rearcross were
not going out without a battle and fought their way back in to the game and
made a strong finish to the half, Paudie Devitt reduced the deficit five minutes
in to the second half when he headed to the net following a corner kick, Rearcross
created their fair share of chances thereafter with Trevor Delahunty, Noel
Deegan, Damien Ryan and Thomas Kennedy all coming close, however it was not
to be for the home side as Cloughjordan held on to progress to the next round.
