Clonmore 1 - Rearcross 'A' 4

Rearcross 'A' travelled to Clonmore last Sunday morning and recorded a 4-1 victory against the home side, Rearcross came close in the 9th minute when Derek O'Toole crossed to Davy O'Toole whose effort wasn't far off, Reacross went ahead in the 14th minute when Derek O'Toole struck from the edge of the box. The Clonmore keeper made a double save on twenty minutes from Emmet Steed, however the keeper was powerless five minutes later as Emmet Steed booted his fifth of the season to the net. Rearcross were well on top at this stage as Emmet Steed fired a well struck shot to the side netting ten minutes before the half time whistle. Rearcross were dominant again at the start of the second half, Declan O'Toole crossed to Emmet Steed four minutes in, however the Clonmore custodian was alert to the situation and saved well. The woodwork denied the visitors two minutes later when Martin McLoughlin sent Emmet Steed through on the left, however the effort came back off the upright. Rearcross increased their lead in the 55th minute when Derek O'Toole made the running on the right before turning inside his marker and rifling on target. Derek O'Toole grabbed his hat-trick in the 59th minute with an opportunist effort from out on the left. Clonmore played their best football after this and had successive chances to open their account before a corner kick was converted by Paul Delaney in the 71st minute, however this had little impact as Rearcross ran out comfortable winners in the end, a speedy recovery to the Clonmore keeper Pat Patterson who sustained a hand injury in the second half.
