Rearcross Youths made a winning start to in Rearcross last
Saturday with a comprehensive victory over an under strength Nenagh Celtic
team. Rearcross were dominant from the start, Colin O'Doherty opened the scoring
on the fifteen minute mark with a twenty yard strike, Paul Hogan made it two
nil when he broke on the wing and tucked the ball away from a tight angle,
Colin O'Doherty grabbed his second shortly before half time when he slid in
to get a vital touch to knock the ball to the net, Simon Kennedy got his name
on the score sheet five minutes in to the second half when he volleyed to
the net following a corner kick, Rearcross continued to dominate and Larry
McLoughlin got in on the act with a finish at the near post, Danny O'Brien
put Rearcross further ahead in the 61st minute when he held his cool before
slotting past the Nenagh custodian, Jamie Ryan was well position to score
from close range late in the game, Nenagh Celtic grabbed a consolation goal
just before the full time whistle with a fine individual effort.
