Rearcross 'B' played a useful challenge game against neigbbours
Doon at the Bilboa Sports Club venue last Sunday, Doon made the brighter start
and came close after ten minutes when a good effort from inside the box, Doon
were applying all the pressure at this stage, however Rearcross started to
claim back territorial advantage with Trevor Delahunty coming close from Liam
Ryan's corner, Rearcross took the lead on the half hour mark when Theo English
finished Denis Kennedy's cross from the left. Doon were back on top at the
start of the second half and levelled with a good strike from inside the box,
both sides exchanged shots on target before Doon took a fortuitous lead when
a long range shot resulted in a mix up in the Rearcross rearguard and the
ball trickled in to the net. Rearcross battled to get back on par and were
rewarded when Theo English grabbed his second with minutes remaining with
a good strike following a well worked move to leave the sides level at the
final whistle which was deemed to be a fair result on the day.
