Rearcross 'A' came out on top against Rearcross 'B' in the
final of the Kilcommon Festival Tournament last Monday evening, the early
passages of play were evenly balanced, however Rearcross 'A' started to build
momentum and this came to fruition in the 11th minute when good play on the
right saw Declan O'Toole swing in the cross which was headed to the net by
Emmet Steed, Rearcross took up the running in the second half and made it
two nil minutes after the restart when Davy O'Toole floated the ball between
the posts, Simon Kennedy kept the score line in the 8th minute with a fine
save from the boot of Declan O'Toole, Rearcross went in to an unassailable
lead midway through the half when Sean Sheehy linked up with Emmet Steed who
side stepped the ball on target, the victory was put beyond doubt with five
minutes remaining when Emmet Steed rounded off his hattrick with a well struck
shot.
