Rearcross 'A' 1 - Cloughjordan 'A' 3

Rearcross 'A' finished their interest in the season's Munster Junior Cup against a livelier Cloughjordan side in Rearcross last Sunday, the visitors were gifted with the opening goal seconds after the kick off when a skewed clearance fell to Kevin Quinlan who slammed to an empty net from close range, Rearcross worked their way back in to the game and equalised in the 25th minute when Diarmuid Sheehy delivered from the right to Derek O'Toole who headed to the corner of the net from the edge of the six yard box. Rearcross made a bright start to the second half and were unlucky not to edge ahead early on when a PJ McLoughlin cross was met by Derek O'Toole with the headed effort not far off in the 51st minute. Cloughjordan were reduced to ten men minutes later, however Rearcross failed to capitalise as it was the visitors who showed more initiative as Diarmuid Kennedy made it 2-1 when he got on the end of a free kick and slotted past Sean Sheehy, Rearcross failed to get back on par and Cloughjordan sealed their place in the next round late in the game when Darrren Killackey got in to score an opportunist goal.
