Rearcross
'A' 1 - Nenagh Celtic 'A' 2
Rearcross 'A' finished a thirty one match season last Friday
evening in Rearcross with a 2-1 defeat to League winners Nenagh Celtic, the
visitors made the early running and came close when Darren Mitchell's quickly
taken free kick was deflected on to the post, the Nenagh side ahead minutes
later when Shane White slipped behind the Rearcross rearguard and drove to
the net from just inside the eighteen yard box, Nenagh went two nil up midway
through the half when a poor clearance fell to Shane White who kicked the
roof of the net from in front of goals. Rearcross were creating their fair
of chances and reduced the deficit when Thomas Kennedy broke clear to drive
his fifteenth goal of the season to the corner of the net after a good move
down the left flank, both sides traded chances in the second half with the
Nenagh Celtic keeper denying Derek O'Toole late in the game, however the visitors
held on to secure the three points.
