Nenagh
Celtic 'B' 1 - Rearcross 'B' 5
Rearcross 'B' made the journey to Nenagh last Sunday morning
to play Nenagh Celtic 'B' in a league tie at the Vocational Grounds and emerged
with all three points on 5-1 score line following a determined display, Paul
Murphy gave Rearcross the lead early on when he followed through and poked
the ball past the Nenagh custodian, Rearcross went two in front on the 20th
minute mark when a Thomas Kennedy in-swinging corner curled to the net with
the help of Simon Kennedy, Nenagh Celtic started to come in to the game after
this and pulled a goal back with a skilful volley from the boot of Martin
Donnellan, the home side surged forward and Rearcross had to survive a few
scares to keep the score line in tact up to the half time whistle. The Nenagh
side made a strong start to the second half, however failed to reduce the
deficit, then Simon Kennedy rammed home from a corner kick to give Rearcross
a 3-1 advantage. Liam O'Toole and Paul Murphy were dominating affairs in midfield
with good support play from all over the field, this dominance paid off as
Rearcross went on to claim all three points tacking on two more goals in the
process through Liam O'Toole and Paul Hogan.
