Rearcross 'B' 0 - Clodiagh Rangers 4

Rearcross 'B' came up against a strong Clodiagh Rangers outfit in this Tournament game played last Friday night in Kilcommon, the Drombane side held a two nil lead at the half way stage following a class effort from Stephen Fewer and a converted penalty from the boot of Cathal Delahunty, Rearcross came closest in this first period with free kicks from James Nolan and Thomas Rainsford. Clodiagh made the early running in the second half and added to their tally five minutes in when Cathal Delahunty chalked up his second with a knock in from close range. Rearcross upped their came after this and had they shown the same zest in the opening half, then the final result might have been different, Adrian Ryan got on the end of a Thomas Rainsford free kick two minutes later only to see his effort go over the bar. Clodiagh Rangers added a fourth midway through the half when Joe Butler found the target. Rearcross finished the game strongly and Robert Harrington did well to get behind the Clodiagh rearguard, however the ball didn't fall to kindly and the effort skewed over the crossbar. Robert Harrington was in the action again a minute later, this time with a fine pass to Paul Hogan who was dreadfully unlucky to see his well struck sway to the left of the upright, Rearcross were denied a late consolation goal when Paul Hogan was denied with a headed effort that swung to the left of the far upright.
