Rearcross 'B' made their exit from the First Division Shield last Saturday following a penalty shoot out against neighbours Ballinahinch, the home team fielded without a number of regulars against a visiting team who were also not ar full strength, nevertheless an entertaining game of football resulted with goalscoring chances falling to both sides, Rearcross came closest in the opening half with good efforts from Kevin Mullins, Joey Nolan and Colin O'Doherty. The best chances of the game fell to both sides in the final ten minutes, however strong defending coupled with poor finishing saw the game finishing scoreless and the home side facing their second penalty shoot-out inside a four day period, however on this occasion lady luck was not with Rearcross as the First Division debutants missed their first three penalties handing the initiative to Ballinahinch who had their marksmen in Tommy Kelly, Marcus Ryan and Michael Fitzgerald. Rearcross had good performances from Kevin Mullins, Colin O'Doherty and Martin McLoughlin, best of luck to Ballinahinch in the semi-final.
