Borrisoleigh 3 - Rearcross 1

Rearcross Youths were forced to travel with a depleted side to Borrisoleigh for this league fixture and were misfortunate not to take something from this game despite their numerical disadvantage, Borrisoleigh took the lead after twenty five minutes with a chipped effort, Rearcross drew level when Dean Leniahn did well before the ball broke to Robert Harrington inside the box whose well struck volley found the bottom corner.Rearcross were the dominat force at the start of the second half and were unlucky with two efforts from Dean Lenihan. The game looked to be heading for a draw, however the home side were awarded a penalty which was duly converted. Rearcross came back at Borrisoleigh with the woodwork denying Mark Hogan when his well struck free kick rebounded back in to play. Borrisoleigh sealed the points with a third shortly before the end, credit to all Rearcross players who turned in a never say die performance on the day.
