Rearcross 'A' 5 - Arra Rovers 1

Rearcross 'A' won out against an under strength Arra Roves in Rearcross last Sunday, the home side got an ideal start when Emmet Steed's headed effort from a Liam Ryan corner finished in the net in the 3rd minute. Nigel Ryan linked up with Emmet Steed five minutes later with the resulting effort skewing just left of the upright. Rearcross came close again midway through the half when a long delivery from Sean Sheehy found Liam Ryan who was unlucky with a well struck effort. Arra Rovers pulled a goal back in the 25th minute when a long range free kick fell to Billy Power who poked the ball to the corner of the net, the visitors were on top after this and an Eddie Lawlor effor wasn't far over minutes later. Rearcross took the lead again five minutes before the break when a Paddy Ryan Luke delivery from out on the left found Liam Ryan who shot to the net at the back post. Rearcross increased their advantage in the 52nd minute when Sean Mullins knocked on to Nigel Ryan who rammed the ball inside the upright. Rearcross were dominating the exchanges at this stage and went further ahead in the 60th minute when good play from Nigel Ryan and Emmet Steed found Paddy Ryan Luke who drove past the Portroe custodian from an acute angle. Rearcross continued on the attack and a Derek O'Toole free kick was headed off the crossbar by Emmet Steed four minutes later. PJ McLoughlin was then unlucky not to open his account following a fine solo run from midfield, Rearcross rounded off the scoring with nineteen minutes remaining when a Damien Mullins delivery was headed to the net with precision by PJ McLoughlin.
