Rearcross 'A' 2 - Nenagh Celtic 'A' 0

Rearcross 'A' won out on a two nil score line against Nenagh Celtic in this league encounter played at Rearcross FC Grounds last Sunday morning, however the win was to come at a cost as Paddy Ryan Luke sustained a broken leg with nine minutes remaining in the first half, Rearcross made a flying start to this game and came close three minutes in when Emmet Steed linked up with Nigel Ryan, A Sean Mullins free kick flew over the Nenagh crossbar in the 14th minute, the visitors settled after this and Arthur Mitchell's lobbed effort clipped the top of the cross bar with 26 minutes gone, Rearcross were enjoying the better of the exchanges and a Kevin Mullins free kick wasn't far away three minutes later. Paddy Ryan Luke released Emmet Steed on the half hour mark, however play was called back for an offside infringement. Diarmuid Sheehy delivered in to the danger area two minutes later, however the Celtic rearguard closed in to avert the danger. Rearcross took the lead in the 40th minute when Nigel Ryan broke on the right and it was Emmet Steed who followed through to knock to the net from close range. Nenagh Celtic has a chance to draw level a minute after the re-start however the effort was right of the upright, Rearcross increased their lead in the 54th minute when Declan O'Toole found space in the center to send the ball to the corner of the net with clinical accuracy, Nigel Ryan fired on target minutes later, however the Nenagh custodian was positioned to gather. Nenagh Celtic counter attacked and Sean Sheehy raced off his line to save at the feet of Arthur Mitchell, the Rearcross keeper came to the rescue again two minutes later with a superb reflex save when the ball was destined for the net.
