Rearcross 'B' turned in a strong performance
to earn a place in the Barry Cup Final following this two nil result over Clonmore
at Rearcross FC Grounds last Saturday evening, Thomas Kennedy put Rearcross ahead
in the 19th minute when his inswinging corner deceived the Clonmore rearguard,
the visiting team were also enjoying their fair share of the exchanges and came
close five minutes later when Brendan Guider slid in to send the ball just wide
from the the edge of the six yard box. Clonmore applied a lot of pressure towards
the end of the half, however the home side held firm. Reacross were denied a two
nil led in the 63rd minute when Paul Murphy's effort thumped off the crossbar,
Thomas Kennedy who turned in a man of the match performance put Rearcross two
nil ahead with eighteen minutes remaining when his well struck free kick finished
in the Clonmore net,
