Rearcross 'A' 2 - Nenagh AFC 'A' 2

Reacross 'A' rounded off a successful week for the Club at Rearcross FC Grounds last Friday evening with a well earned two all draw against Nenagh AFC which was enough to ensure a runners up spot in the Premier Division League and a highest league placing for Rearcross FC since the Club's affiliation to the NT&DL in 1983, Rearcross made a sluggish start and were a goal down after two minutes when Michael O'Gorman knocked the ball to the net, Rearcross regrouped and got back on par in the 12th minute when Kevin Mullin's clinical free kick from out on the right picked out Declan O'Toole who headed to the far corner of the net. The visitors were back in front eight minutes later when Michael O'Gorman's well struck free kick crept in under the crossbar despite the best efforts of Sean Sheehy. Rearcross increased the tempo towards the end of the half and a Sean Mullins headed effort was on target but held by the keeper in the 35th minute. Liam Ryan then followed up a minute later with a good break on the left, however Nenagh custodian Arron Savage got down to make a good save. A Diarmuid Sheehy free kick was held by the Nenagh keeper just on the stroke of half time. The exchanges were fair and even in the second half with both sets of defences turning in strong defensive performances, Nigel Ryan came close for Rearcross with a well struck effort midway through the half, Liam Ryan sent James Gough down the right minutes later with the resulting shot just wide of the upright. Nenagh were also playing creative football and clever defending from Damien Mullins, Declan O'Toole and Kevin Mullins kept the visitors at bay, Rearcross scored the vital equaliser with twelve minutes remaining when good play of the left saw Sean Mullins direct a placed header to the corner of the net to conclude a memorable 33 game season for Rearcross 'A'.
