Rearcross 'B' 4 - Sallypark 'B' 1

Rearcross B got back to winning ways last Sunday afternoon with a deserved 4 -1 victory over Sallypark B. Rearcross were on top for most of the game however it was Sallypark who had the first real chance of the afternoon when a free kick floated deep into the Rearcross penalty area was met by the inrushing attack. The home side breathed a sigh of relief as the shot clipped the top of the crossbar and went away to safety. Rearcross responded well after this, forcing a number of corners in succession. And it was from one of these corners that Rearcross took the lead when the ball eventually fell to John Ryan Luke who set up Adrian Hurley to drive a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. Rearcross were unlucky not to go further ahead minutes later when a Larry McLoughlin effort was cleared off the line. Rearcoss were dealt a blow right on the stroke of half time when a pass across the Rearcross box was robbed by Sallypark and finished to the corner of the net. This setback didn't upset the home side too much and Rearcross retook the lead 15 minutes into the second half when a good passing move saw Liam Ryan find space in the box and he finished smartly to the corner of the net. Sean Kennedy got the crucial third goal 10 minutes later when he was played through by Tommy Ryan Luke(G) and beat the Sallypark keeper from just inside the penalty area. Rearcross were well on top at this stage, when the visitors nearly pulled a goal with a quick counterattack, however the resulting effort was pulled right and wide. The Sallypark keeper had to be alert moments later to divert a Michael O'Gorman shot out for a corner. Rearcross put the victory beyond doubt with 5 minutes to go when substitute Tommy Ryan Luke (B) added a fourth.
