Nenagh Celtic 'B' 1 - Rearcross 'B' 4

Rearcross B made the trip to the VEC school grounds last Saturday evening and returned home with maximum points after a 4 – 1 win over Nenagh Celtic ‘B’. It was the home side who took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock after a free kick from the middle of the patch deceived everyone to end up in the Rearcross net. This goal was somewhat against the run of play and Rearcross pressed hard for an equaliser with efforts from Joey Nolan and Tommy Ryan (L). The visitors deservedly drew level 10 minutes before the break when Joey Nolan played in Michael O’Gorman. The striker, who was a constant threat, beat the advancing keeper with ease to leave the sides all square at the half time.
Rearcross were well on top all through the 2nd half and went in front after 10 minutes when a neat interchange of passes between Joey Nolan and Paul Murphy played Matthew Ryan (L) into the opposition penalty area and the midfielder made no mistake from 10 yards out to put his side in front. And indeed the captain grabbed a 2nd moments later when Joey Nolan played a superb pass over his shoulder in to Matthews’s path. His left footed strike was blasted to the roof of the net to finish the move with aplomb. The points were destined for Rearcross after this and the visitors had further chances to add to their advantage. They snatched a 4th in the final minute when the Nenagh defence conceded an own goal.
