Borrisoleigh 0 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' made the journey to Borrisoleigh for this Premier Division Shield semi-final and came away with a hard earned narrow one nil victory. The first half exhanges were tough and fair with Matthew Ryan Luke doing exceptionally well to break up numerous Borrisoleigh moves in the middle of the field. Scoring chances were at a premium, however Rearcross took the lead ten minutes before the half time whistle when a Liam Ryan throw ball released Shane Lenihan who advanced on goal and put the ball to the far side of the keeper for a smashing goal. Borrisoleigh upped the ante in the second half and the pressure paid off when Rearcross conceded a penalty following a handball infringement, however Rearcross keeper Sean Sheehy proved his worth once again with a fine save. This proved to be a turning point and Rearcross dug deep after this to hold out for the win and a place in the Final against high flying Nenagh Celtic 'A'.
