Thurles Celtic 2 - Rearcross 'B' 1
Rearcross kicked on their league campaign last Friday evening with a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Thurles Celtic, the home side took the lead just before half time with a converted penalty. Rearcross rallied at the start of the second half and pulled a goal back when John Ryan Luke scored his first of the season with a well struck shot from outside the box that finished in the bottom corner. It was tit for tat after this and Thurles Celtic snatched a winner with nine minutes to go following a long range effort. Rearcross tried hard to get back in to the game and Paul Murphy had the ball in the Thurles Celtic net two minutes from time, however play was called back as the whistle had sounded before the ball struck the net. This was bad luck on a Rearcross side that deserved more for their efforts.
