Rearcross 'A' were the visitors to the Borrisoleigh venue for this Premier Division game against the home side and came with a well merited two all draw. Borrisoleigh continued to threaten and Paul Murphy's tackle on Noel Kent in the 8th minute had to be well timed to thwart the Borrisoleigh striker. Noel Kent was in the action again three minutes later, however Paul Murphy's intervention forced the ball wide. Rearcross steadied as the game wore on and Davy Ryan Luke's shot was on target on 14 minutes on only for the Borrisoleigh custodian to parry out for a corner kick. Liam Ryan linked up with Robert Harrington in the 22nd minute whose resulting shot was gathered by Gerry Treacy in the Borrisoleigh goals. Rearcross were well in the game and a Damien Nolan cross to Matthew Ryan Luke was headed over the target minutes later. Rearcross were let off the hook thirteen minutes before the break when Jody Harkin's corner kick was met by Liam Tynan as the headed effort flew over the crossbar. Liam Ryan was the provider again to Robert Harrington in the 42nd minute and the Toor man was unlucky to see his effort lob over the bar. It was the turn of the visitors to make a blistering start in the second half and Liam Ryan was the marksman two minutes in after producing the trickery on the end line before ramming the ball to the corner of the net from an acute angle. Borrisoleigh were quick to recover and Jim Caplis proved his worth with a fine save at the expense of a corner kick. Rearcross took the lead on 52 minutes when Liam Ryan got up to head Robert Harrington's delivery to the back of the net from in front of goals to give the striker his sixth of the season. Borrisoleigh started to dominate in the middle of the field and Noel Kent poked inches wide of the post in the 64th minute. The home side got back on par three minutes later when Jody Harkin's free kick on the right was flicked to the corner of the net by Benny Harkin for a smashing headed goal. Liam Nolan(B) combined with Martin McLoughlin in what was good defensive play to break up a Borrisoleigh goal scoring chance. Rearcross keeper Jim Caplis raced off his line and narrowed the angle to deny Noel Kent with ten minutes remaining, Rearcross defended stoutly after this and Benny Harkin's effort wasn't far away seconds from the end, however a sterling display from the visitors ensured a share of the spoils against the odds.
