Sallypark 'A' 0 -Rearcross 0

Rearcross were away to Sallypark 'A' last Sunday morning in the league and played out a scoreless draw against the home side. Sallypark did the early pressing and Sean Sheehy was forced to scramble the ball to safety in the 3rd minute. The visitor's first chance of the game came on 8 minutes when Liam Ryan combined with PJ McLoughlin who swung in the delivery to James Gough whose headed effort wasn't far away. Rearcross had the ball in the Sallypark net midway through the half when Diarmuid Sheehy's throw ball went all the way, however Rearcross were luckless to have the goal disallowed as the referee deemed that the ball had gone straight to the net without touch despite strong protestations from Rearcross. Sean Mullins came close for Rearcross eight minutes before the break with a good effort following a corner kick.

Chances were at a premium in the second half, however the woodwork was to deny Rearcross twelve minutes in to the second half when Declan O'Toole's thunderbolt from the edge of the box struck the underside of the crossbar before coming back in to play. PJ McLoughlin threatened for Rearcross minutes later and then Sean Sheehy saved to deny Sallypark in the 70th minute. Both sets of defences dominated after this, however Tommy Kennedy did get a shot in shortly after being introduced which pulled away from the target. Rearcross pushed hard for the winner near the end but failed to breakdown a resilient Sallypark rearguard.
