Rearcross 'B' 4 - Latteragh Celtic 2

Rearcross 'B' recorded their first league win of the season with an emphatic 4-2 result against Latteragh Celtic at Rearcross FC Grounds. Latteragh Celtic playing against a blustery wind in the first half took the lead midway through the half when Billy Corcoran got behind the Rearcross defence to knock under an advancing Jim Caplis. Rearcross were back on par in the 27th minute when Liam Nolan's well struck free kick finished in the corner of the net with the aid of a slight deflection. The home side took the lead on the half hour mark when stalwart Thomas Kennedy was well positioned at the back post to side foot inside the post from close range. The Templederry side were back in the game in the 62nd minute when Mike Ryan knocked between the posts from close range following a goal mouth scramble. Rearcross went on to dominate after this creating chances galore, however poor finished kept the sides level. Rearcross eventually took the lead with eight minutes to go when Sean Hickey rammed the ball to the root of the net from just inside the eighteen yard box after good work by Davy Ryan Luke. James Deegan was unluckey not to extend the lead with a fine effort from the left seconds later. Jim Caplis came to the rescue for Rearcross three minutes from time with a smashing reflex save to keep Rearcross in front. The home side sealed the win in the 90th minute when Sean Hickey threaded through to Thomas Kennedy who kept his composure to bag his second of the day.
