Moneygall 'B' 4 - Rearcross 'B' 2

Rearcross 'B' trekked to Moneygall with an under stength team for this league encounter against Moneygall 'B' and succumbed to a 4-2 defeat. The home side were first to score when Cathal Kennedy drove to the net early on. Thomas Kennedy not to be outdone scored a cracking equaliser for Rearcross six minutes before the break. Moneygall showed strongly early in the second half and went back in front when Brian Quinlan was on the mark. Cathal Kennedy scored his second of the day to make it 3-1 and then Joe Callaghan got in on the act to give Moneygall a 4-1 advantage, Rearcross didn’t give up though and were luckless when successive efforts from Sean Hickey and Thomas Kennedy came off the woodwork.Rearcross did get a goal back after Sean Hickey drilled the ball to the net from a corner kick. The visitors kept the pressure on to the final whistle coming close with good efforts from Kieran Devitt and Dave Carroll, however it was not to be on this occasion.
